Microsoft will have to pay traffic acquisition costs to Yahoo with an initial rate of 88% of search revenue. Also the self advertising for Yahoo and Microsoft will be fulfilled by AdCenter program by Microsoft.

Cisco Buys Starent for $2.9 Billion

Cisco Systems Inc., the leading maker of networking equipment has recently announced that it has agreed to buy Starent Networks Corp.,

Also reported Starent equipment would help them in wireless carriers support for smart phones such as analyzing or understanding the traffic over networks and speedy routing to overhaul the traffic issues

Starent, of Tewksbury, Massachusetts, makes equipment that allows carriers to tie their wireless networks to the Internet.

Cisco, who pays $35 per share in cash already, anticipates the deal to close early next year as Cisco agreed to buy for $2.9 billion.

Cisco CEO John Chambers reported that they expect to make more acquisitions in future.

The deal follows a wave of consolidation in the technology industry as tech companies seek to position themselves for a recovery.In the past month, Dell Inc. spent $3.9 billion to buy Perot Systems Inc.; Xerox Corp. shelled out $5.6 billion for Affiliated Computer Services Inc.; and Adobe Systems Inc. paid $1.8 billion for Omniture Inc.

It is the second major acquisition in two weeks for Cisco, the world’s largest maker of computer networking gear. On 1 October, it announced a deal to buy Tandberg ASA, a leading maker of videoconferencing gear, for $3 billion.

Oracle gets approval to buy SUN Microsystem

Oracle on 20th August , 2009 announced that it got approval to acquire Sun Microsystems. The Department of Justice [ DOJ, United states ] has approved Oracle’s plan to buy Sun Microsystems, this Thursday.

Oracle acquired Sun for $9.50 per share in cash, in common Stocks. This approval is more anticipated one by Oracle, as DOJ in June said it need more time for investigation but the deal gets approved on August itself.

“We expect this acquisition to be accretive to Oracle’s earnings by at least 15 cents on a non-GAAP basis in the first full year after closing. We estimate that the acquired business will contribute over $1.5 billion to Oracle’s non-GAAP operating profit in the first year, increasing to over $2 billion in the second year.

This would make the Sun acquisition more profitable in per share contribution in the first year than we had planned for the acquisitions of BEA, PeopleSoft and Siebel combined,”

Oracle Wins the race as IBM has backed its deal of buying Sun. Oracle has agreed to buy Sun Microsystems for $7.4 billion and the transaction valued at $7.4 billion or $5.6 billion of Sun’s cash and debt. This debt is very high for Oracle , as Sun doesn’t perform well in its last quarters. Also the integration of Sun will be a tough task for Oracle.

Yes, Microsoft signs 10 years partnership deal with yahoo to make use of yahoo’s search engine experience in web search market.

Earlier Microsoft made its bid of $45 billion nearly to acquire whole of yahoo which clearly revealed that Microsoft was trying to rival on Google in internet search business. The combination raises search technology of Bing to 28% which is still far behind 65% of Google. Undoubtedly it increases the revenue of Microsoft, wherein in the case of Yahoo, we can not clearly determine it.

“Satyam Computer Services Ltd” was a reputed corporate company doing all the financial works for the World Bank. But the name “Satyam” is no longer used as the company dealt with negative situation due to the mishandling of the accounts. “Satyam“ has not reached its end but ONLY ITS NAME .

TechMahindra,the new owner of Satyam named it as MAHINDRA SATYAM as per the new business trend. Satyam’s tagline was “What Business Demands”. But now new Mahindra Satyam Company has no tagline below the logo stating that tagline was obvious. The sale of stake to Mahindra followed an accounting scandal at Satyam, in which founder B. Ramalinga Raju admitted that the company’s accounts had a fictitious cash balance of more than $1 billion for more than the years.

The name change from Satyam to Mahindra Satyam happened on 21st July 2009. The New Company, New Management unveiled the new brand identity of the company on this Sunday (21st July 2009). This name change is due to reason which almost everyone knows. As stated earlier the Satyam got into the hands of World Bank making fraud accounts and the case have been already filled on the older management. Later it was Mahindra & Mahindra Company which came forward to buy the Satyam Company. It was Anand Mahindra’s men who chose to take the charge of the Satyam Computer Services.

C.P. Gurnani, the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Mahindra Satyam was earlier the President of the International Operations done at the Mahindra & Mahindra Company. Mahindra’s Vice Chairman, Anand Mahindra announced this. In order to have a smooth journey between the Tech Mahindra and the Mahindra Satyam, a group of investigating officers to carry over the rapport operation between the two companies.
