Microsoft’s Discount on Windows 7

Submitted by techrar on Monday, 22 June 2009No Comment

Microsoft Corporation has revealed the discount for Windows 7 on 24th June 2009.  This discount made by the Microsoft Corporation especially on Windows 7 came in very surprise for some buyers and also bigger than expected one from Microsoft.  In countries like United States of America, United Kingdom and Japan, Microsoft Corporation had announced a limited period offer for the discount of Windows 7 with the United States price of $49.99, a 75 percent discount to the list price.

This 75 percentage of discount from the leader in Computer Industry, Microsoft Corporation makes the people all over the world unbelievable.  This discount is sought to stoke up the necessary demand for the newer PCs and also due to the unexpected poor reputation of the Windows Vista.  According to the sources close to the Microsoft Corporation, it is declared official that this discount made to neutralize the bad effect made by the release of Windows Vista all over the globe.  Windows Vista was launched by the Microsoft Corporation at the early days of 2007.  After  the release of the Windows Vista, Microsoft Corporation attracted much criticism rather than having pleasant comments. This was due to the failure of the Vistas by not co – operating with the commonly used software.

According to the Software Analysts this discount made by the Microsoft on Windows 7 of about 75 percent will increase the sale of PC along with the Windows Vista with in the near Christmas Season.  The strategy of the Microsoft is to make the Windows Vistas to give a positive impact on the people along with the huge discount of the Windows 7 thus regaining the reputation that the World Best Company have lost in earlier months.

The pricing list details of the discount announced by the Microsoft Corporation came in to operation on 24th June 2009 (Thursday).  It was announced that this discount is valid globally considering the price of Windows 7 as in United States.  But in Europe, this discount is made a quarrel environment in the computer technology sector as some of the PC users end up in paying more in upgrading the next version of Windows.  So the people are going beyond Windows 7, hence making this discount of no use in the European countries.  This has a direct result of a clash in the software company with the European Regulators over the internet browsers.

European Union announced that the discount made by the Microsoft was “Bundling” the software together.  IN response to this, Microsoft has decided to ship the Windows 7 there stripped of its own Internet Explorer Browser.  This action was announced by the Microsoft Corporation in early May 2009.  Due to this difference in opinion between the European Commission and the Microsoft Corporation, the users of the Windows Vista in European Countries are made to pay a price of $280 (199.99 Pounds) rather than paying $167.99 (119.99 pounds) for the fuller version of the Microsoft Windows Vista.

To make a good rapport with the European Union, Microsoft Corporation had announced that it would sell the software at the lower price as possible until “at least” end of the year 2009.  It is imposed that people who do not own Windows Vistas in Europe have to buy it for the price of 200 pounds as announced by the Microsoft authorities.  Those buyers will also get benefit of lower prices if they buy software from Microsoft within this year (2009) end.
