Palm’s Next generation Operating System code named as NOVA . It is the next-generation operating system with much more capabilities, driven around the Internet and Web-based applications . Although the company still says it’s on track to finish its next-generation “Nova” mobile operating system by the end of 2008 , NOVA is expected to release in First half of year 2009 . It will be a great treat if it releases soon .

NOVA is a Linux based operating system offering backwards compatibility with thousands of Palm apps . The software in NOVA should eventually replace the old Palm OS . CEO of Palm confirmed that NOVA will be releasing in 2009 . This Jan  8th , in Consumer Electronics Show Palm is expected to demonstrate about their new operating system.

NOVA is a healthy competitor to Google’s Android , Symbian OS and Windows mobile . Palm is mainly aiming to implement Nova in smartphone market.

We have to wait till june 2009 , for this great next generation operating System in Linux . Lets see how Nova compete with Symbian , Android and Windows Os .
