This Netscape 8.0 is built on the Gecko Engine that is used to power the Mozilla Firefox browser. Earlier, AOL Time Warner had declared Mozilla Team as a Non-Profit in 2004. It is also capable of running the same engine as Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, where about 150,000 sites have been certified as “trusty” by the TRUSTe organization.

The browsing is very safe in environment with complete pop – up blocking and anti – phishing certificate displays. Up to 10 different customized toolbars are streamed onto the desktop. Anyway, may not all the properties in the Netscape 8.0 is on right track but when compared to other latest browsers that have been released it has many advantages. Netscape 8.0 is now considered as the Best Alternatives that is being held in the computer industry.

The file size of the Netscape 8.0 is about 12MB which comes under freeware. During the installation, it prompts the user to enter the Zip Code so that the Netscape can provide the user about the weather information on the user’s location. Overall, Netscape 8.0 is considered to have a clear and pleasant efficient interface. There are top four buttons available as in all other browsers. They are Back, Forward, Stop/Refresh,Home.

A search box is a prominent button which is used to search the required address typed and it is also possible to customize the search engine choice. In the Netscape 8.0, adjacent to the address box are the four important buttons:
o Popup Blocker
o Passcard
o Clear Cache
o Print

The advantage of the Netscape 8.0 over the Internet Explorer is that the Popup Blocker and the Clear Cache are the high level buttons in Netscape where as in the internet explorer these buttons are activated through several menus to modify the settings. Passcard is defined as the Netscape’s version of the form filler. These form filler are the easiest way to store the password and other personal processed data which is specific to a website. There are five buttons below the top row of main buttons that can be toggled to different toolbars.

In order to create the interest in the Netscape’s users, most of the toolbars are emptied in such a way that the user can load the toolbar with their favorites like Music, News, Sports and other entertainments according to the needs. There is a live feature on the default toolbar which includes the Weather conditions of the location desired and also live international news from the Netscape. On the left side of the pane there is a Side Bar. Through this side bar, AOL AIM Buddy List can be accessed which can initiate the IM Chats. It also includes the Search options in the web, selection of the favorite bookmarks and Map Quest.

To call precisely, Netscape 8.0 is one of the most secure browsers that are available in today’s market. The features like:
